La Liga giants Barcelona have gotten off to a terrible start to their season so far. They are eight on the points tally and are hence looking to make some serious changes in their side to prepare a stronger side for the next season. If reports are to be believed, Barca have decided to sell as many as two players in next season to get in funds. Reports further add that they have even identified their main target for the next season.
According to a report carried by Don Balon, Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde does not want Samuel Umtiti and Ivan Rakitic in the Barca squad anymore. While Umtiti has failed to get going after sustaining an injury, he does not remain a regular starter for the Barcelona team.
Moreover, Ivan Rakitic has also been linked with a transfer out of the club. The Croatian midfield player is no longer as swift on the pitch as he used to be and new signing Frenkie de Jong has already taken his place in the starting XI. With both the player set to depart from the club, Barca are expecting a hefty amount for the duo in return.
The reports further add that Barcelona are planning to spend this amount on one of the players they are desperate to draft in their team- Fabian Ruiz. The Spanish midfielder has apparently attracted the club’s interest and their club director Eric Abidal was even spotted in attendance to scout him during a match he featured in Italy.
